چکیده
Background: Primary hyperhidrosis is a sympathetic disorder characterized by prolonged and uncontrollable sweating. It associated with emotional stress or psychological causes that preferably affects the axillae, palms, feet, face. Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery currently globally recognized treatment for primary palmar (PH). However, compensatory sweating (CS) most prominent long-term adverse effect of sympathectomy. Objectives: Here, we aim to perform selective ramicotomy patients evaluate clinical outcomes satisfaction, as well on frequency, location, severity Methods: In this single-arm trial study, 24 sympathectomies were carried out 12 who candidates bilateral sympathectomy (ramicotomy) at Imam Khomeini Hospital. The patients’ demographic information was interviewed followed up using telephone questionnaires in health center one week after surgery. Then, rates sweating, failure recurrence retrospectively analyzed. Results: No significant differences observed between age, gender, weight, BMI, rates. Notwithstanding, there statistically difference height (P = 0.016). Compensatory occurred 66.7% patients; 50% mild, 16.7% moderate, no intolerable recurrence. incidence lower back. rate satisfaction 94.5 ± 7.8%. Conclusions: Selective an effective surgical procedure very high level precision satisfaction. This technique hence should be considered method choice hyperhidrosis.

Single port thoracoscopic sympathectomy for primary palmar hyperhidrosis in adolescence.
AIM Hyperhidrosis is defined as excessive sweating beyond the physiologic needs of a person. Palmar hyperhidrosis in the adolescent period may have an impact on school work and may cause psychological problems. In this study we aim to increase awareness of this disregarded problem. MATERIALS AND METHODS We explicated the early outcomes of 7 consecutive adolescents, where single port video-ass...
متن کاملComparison of T2 and T3 sympathectomy for compensatory sweating on palmar hyperhidrosis
BACKGROUND An otherwise successfully performed endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy (ETS) to treat palmar hyperhidrosis (PH) often has a serious side effect: compensatory sweating (CS). This side effect occurs in other parts of the body to a disturbing extent. The objective of this study is to determine whether there is a relationship between the level of ETS performed on patients with PH, and the...
متن کاملLong term compensatory sweating results after sympathectomy for palmar and axillary hyperhidrosis.
BACKGROUND Endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy is currently the best treatment for primary upper extremity hyperhidrosis, but the potential for adverse effects, particularly the development of compensatory sweating, is a concern and often precludes surgery as a definitive therapy. This study aims to evaluate long-term results of two-stage unilateral versus one-stage bilateral thoracoscopic sympat...
متن کاملEarly experience with thoracoscopic sympathectomy for palmar hyperhidrosis.
Excessive craniofacial, palmar and axillary hyperhidrosis can be very distressing in young people, especially in hot climates. In this study, we are presenting our operative experience and the long-term effect of the technique of thoracospic electrocoagulation of the thoracic sympathetic chain in the treatment of this condition. We reviewed the results of 22 thoracoscopies performed on 16 patie...
متن کاملSingle incision thoracoscopic sympathectomy for palmar and axillary hyperhidrosis
BACKGROUND Primary hyperhidrosis is characterized by excessive sweating beyond physiological needs. It is a common disease (incidence 2.8%) that causes intense discomfort for patients. In the last decade, advantages of Single-Incision Thoracoscopic Sympathectomy have become clear, particularly in decreasing morbidity of sympathectomy. PATIENTS AND METHODS From January 2010 to December 2012, 3...
